A dedicated group of BMUC women has been coming once a month to Piedmont Gardens Home for several years. They lead a meditation period in a lounge room with everyone sitting in a circle. They read scriptures, lead a hymn singing, lead a meditation period, and offer a prayer. Communion is served and a hymn closes the service.
Among the ladies who come, led by Rev. Dr. Naomi Southard, are Flora and Alice Ninomiya, Carolyn Soto, Miyo Uratsu and Michiko Uchida. The gathering is for an hour and the residents are honored with snacks or flowers to take back with them.
The Piedmont Garden residents who attend are Sumika Yamashita, Kiku Shimazaki, Carol Murakami, Sachi Kajiwara, Masako Hamada, Lee Marrs, and Yoshimi Nakamura occasionally. This mission work is such a great thing done by a small group of dedicated women of BMUC.
