On Feb. 22, BMUC is observing the annual Day of Remembrance of Executive Order 9066, which resulted in the incarceration of west-coast Japanese and Japanese-Americans during World War II.
There will be an exhibit of memorabilia in the social hall. Former internees Kazuko Iwahashi and Toru Saito, and possibly others, will be available to talk about their experiences and answer questions. It is important to remember this injustice so it will never be repeated.
Members and friends, please start looking for artifacts and items of interest related to the Evacuation, Incarceration and camp life to display and share. Easels are also needed, if you can lend them. Please bring them to church between 9:30-10am. It would be a great help if you are able to come early to help set up tables and displays.
