Christmas time at BMUC is filled with fun and frolic!

In this holiday season, we pull out all the stops to bring the love and joy of Christ into the lives of those we encounter. We hope you’ll join us on this journey of faith as we come together during this time of merriment for fun, laughs, community, and of course, to draw closer to God.

Christmas Pop up Craft Boutique

We couldn’t resist sharing with you the items our crafters have made! We hope our selection will help you with your gift giving, stocking stuffing and perhaps a little self indulging! The boutique will be here through Christmas, but don’t wait too long to get the items you want–in some cases items will be restocked. In other cases, what you see is all we have. Remember to check back for new and different items!

Cookies and Carols

  • When: Friday, 12/12 @7pm
  • Where: In-person OR online! (see Worship Online page)
  • What: Singing your favorite Christmas songs – and cookies! and cocoa!
  • Cost: Absolutely FREE!!!

Our 6th year featuring Cookies, Cocoa and Carols – join in online or in person! If you come in person, you not only get the benefit of fellowship and friendship, but cookies, too. Online folks – we love you, but you’ll have to come to the church if you want cookies. We sing Christmas favorites including holiday standards and contemporary songs. We are led by our own very talented Naomi Sanchez and we are rounding up some others to help us out for a fun evening of song and merriment! Join us and invite your friends and family. And because we are online and in-person, it doesn’t matter where they live!

Christmas Eve Candlelight Worship

  • When: Wednesday, 12/24 @7pm
  • Where: In-person OR online!
  • What: Celebrate the birth of Christ with us on this special night

Come and join us for one of the most joyous celebrations of the year! If you are able, we hope you will plan to be with us in person for this meaningful service. If not, please make plans to join us online for our candlelight worship. There is always something special about being part of the candlelight service so if you’ve never been, we think you’ll find it especially meaningful. And of course, there will be singing! We will share in the faith-filled story-telling, singing Christmas carols and decorating the Sanctuary Christmas Tree with ornaments.  You can bring your own to add to those others have given, or place the ones we have on the tree.  We will then close with the joyful and sacred candle-lighting and singing Silent Night together.

As with all of our in-person events inside the church building, we do ask you to follow our safety protocols which you can find out about on our Worship Live page.

Our Advent and Christmas seasons offering will go towards gift cards for foster youth in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties.  We learned in prior years that while younger foster kids will get toys and gifts, often the youth, especially those nearing adulthood are overlooked.  By getting gift cards for them, they receive ‘double-joy’ – one in receiving the gift and one when they get to choose something they really want.  If you want to purchase the gift cards yourself, please purchase $25 gift cards which they can use readily, e.g., Target, Visa/MC, Amazon, etc.  You can place them in the offering basket at worship. (If you require a receipt for physical gift card(s) given, please include your name and email or address in the envelope). If you must mail them to us, it is a good idea to use postal insurance. If you prefer for us to buy the gift cards, monetary donations are welcome too.
     You can also bring them or your Christmas offering to Christmas Eve worship at 7:00 pm, on December 24.
